lowertown.info—Longtime Lowertown Lofts Artists Cooperative resident and Lowertown community member Allison Hoogervorst passed away in an apparent accident in the first week of October at her home in Desert Hot Springs, California, on the edge of Joshua Tree National Park, where she had been living for the last several years.

The artificial mountain in the Cabela’s in Phoenix, AZ, which Allison and a team of other Twin Cities construction workers and artists built in 2004-2005.

No memorial event has been announced yet.

Allison was full of life and love for the Lowertown community and carried around a cheeky smile that stretched into her perception of her work life.

As she told you about what she did for a living—making artificial rock structures including building the gigantic mountains in the outdoor and sporting goods chain Cabela’s across the country—the self-dubbed “Concrete Ali” would quip, “Dead, stuffed goats appreciate my work!”
